Contest - The Accidental Demon Slayer (and last week's winner)

Okay, first things first. Last week's winner for Sleeping With Ward Cleaver is SB Jane, send me your snail mail addy at vickilanewrites at yahoo.com and I'll get it out to you.

Now, on to this week's contest. Angie Fox is an amazing paranormal author, who adds a funny twist. She also has a Biker Witch name generator on her site and mine is Hog Wild Harriet No Brakes. How fun is that?? :) Visit her site to find your own name, as well as to enter into a contest where your biker name may be in her next book.

Here's the backcover blurb:

It's never a good day when an ancient demon shows up on your toilet bowl . . .

For Lizzie Brown, that's just the beginning. Soon her hyperactive terrier starts talking, and her long-lost biker witch Grandma is hurling Smuckers jars filled with magic. Just when she thinks she's seen it all, Lizzie learns she's a demon slayer-and all hell is after her.

Of course, that's not the only thing after her. Dimitri Kallinikos, a devastatingly handsome shape-shifting griffin needs Lizzie to slay a demon of his own. But how do you talk a girl you've never met into going straight to the underworld? Lie. And if that doesn't work, how dangerous could a little seduction be . . . ?

Love it, right!

Leave your comments through out the week to be entered and I'll post a winner on Friday. Yes, really on Friday this week.

Contest Time - Sleeping With Ward Cleaver

It’s time to kick off a few contests and the first one is guaranteed to have you laughing through out the book.

Jenny Gardiner’s new book Sleeping With Ward Cleaver is a fabulous and funny book which keep you turning the pages.

Jenny Gardiner is a debut author with Dorchester Publishing and she is the Winner of 2007 American Title contest.

Here’s the backcover blurb:

Wham, bam, no-thank-you, ma'am. That about sums up the sex life of Claire Doolittle. Not-so-happily married to Jack-once the man of her dreams but now a modern-day version of the bossy, dull Ward Cleaver of '50s sitcom fame-Claire is at the end of her rope. Gone are the glorious days of flings in elevators and broom closets. Jack? All he needs is a cardigan and a billowing pipe to become the domineering father figure Claire never wanted. And looking at her body in the mirror, Claire would cast herself as Lumpy. They'd once had a world of color, of wanton frivolity. Now, life's black and white: a sitcom in reruns. A not-very-funny sitcom. Cue an old boyfriend-the "one that got away"-throw in a predatory hottie who's set her sights on our leading man, and watch Claire's world spiral out of control.

Most of you know the drill, but in case your new to the blog all you need to do is leave a comment today and/or anytime through the week and on Friday a winner will be chosen.

So, what about you, have you read any other books recently that have you smiling as you read?

It's Good to Be Back

It’s been one week since I returned from RWA, San Fran Nationals and already it seems so long ago.

Just a quick run down. The hotel was amazing and shopping was everywhere you turned. Not that I had much time for it, but still, if you like to shop, then San Fran is a great place to go.

I never made it to Napa Valley though and I’m really sorry about that. I wanted to do a little wine tasting in the valley. Again, it was the time issue. We did, however, have wine at the hotel and the Wharf.

My pitch appointments went very well and I came home with several requests from them, as well as general talking with editors and/or agents. Fingers crossed for those.

The weather was great and believe it or not, I really didn’t over pack this year. Yes, I had a few extra things that weren’t worn, but trust me on this, a few extra things is good for me. Remember, I’m a choices kinda girl.

Oh wait, did someone ask if we got any sleep??? At nationals? Nope, we ran on about 3 hours a night if we were lucky. And the one night my roomy and I were back in the room at a decent hour, we sat and talked until 3:00 AM. By the way, my roomy was great!

I posted a slideshow on the right with pics.

I'm back...Sort of...

Conference was amazing and being back home is also amazing and wonderful. I love my bed.

I've got pictures and loads of stuff to tell you, but right now I'm still trying to get over the whole 'conference brain' thing. At least I'm getting more than 2 1/2 - 3 hours of sleep as of last night. That in its self is a plus. :)

I'll be back...
