I'll be back some time this weekend to choose the winner of our surprise book giveaway, but in the mean time, check this out.
Tessa Dare is over at the group blog I'm on and she's talking about lying...can you? Can you do with a poker face?
And, she's giving a copy of her latest book. You can click here and read the post, then leave a comment to win. Also, the comments left all week, including today still count towards the surprise giveaway.
Hugs,
Vicki

Angie Fox Contest – It’s Even Better than an ARC

Angie Fox is rocking the house and this time she’s giving away an original manuscript to her upcoming release, The Dangerous Book for DEMON SLAYERS.
Her ARC’s aren’t in yet and instead of making us wait, she’s doing a sweet contest on her blog and over at her group blog, Something Wicked.
You can read an excerpt here.
So how can you win this original manuscript? The one Angie’s going to have bound and sent to you? The one that’s even better than winning an ARC?
I’m so glad you asked. All you need to do is go to either (or both for a better chance) and leave a comment. I’m dying to read this book, but I’m not in the contest this time. :) Makes it one more chance for you to win.
So, go leave your comments, read the excerpt, and come back and let me know what you think.

Don't Vote??? by 5 More Friends uncensored
You may have seen this already, but it's worth the repeat. I don't normally put political things on my blog, not that I don't have my own opinions, because I do. But this is not the place I usually speak them.
However, this was too cool and important to me not to share. Regardless of who you're voting for, the important thing is that you VOTE. This is a major election all the way around and we have the right to include our vote, to say who we believe should be in office. IMVHO, no one should ever not exercise that right.

Don't forget to leave your comments for the Romeo Romeo giveaway.

Check Out Diana's Cover for Rampant and Carrie's Website and Excerpt...Wow for Both
Check out Diana Peterfreund’s blog. She has the cover up for Rampant and OMG, it’s amazing!
The girl is beautiful, but it goes beyond that. It’s like she knows something and you really want to know what it is.
This is a cover that if I was browsing in the bookstore, (and I always do after I’ve pick up whatever I’ve went for), the cover alone would draw me in and I’d have to pick it up to read the back.
Okay, now you’ve check out Diana’s blog, go over and check out Carrie Ryan’s new website. And while you’re there, read an excerpt of The Forest of Hands and Teeth. Amazing.
It’s not a long excerpt by any means and yet I was immediately drawn into her world.
These are two books I’m dying to read and can’t wait till they come out.
So, now you’ve check them out, what do you think?

Check It Out
Over on Much Cheaper Than Therapy is a fabulous post by editors, Laura Kelly and Vicky Reed.
IMVHO, this is a must read for all writers, especially those of us who are aspiring to become published authors. Not only are they giving us ten of their top pet peeves, but they've provided examples of what their talking about.
Check it out and come back to leave a comment of your thoughts on the post.

I'm Chum in the Water and it's not so bad...
I'm off the site for a few days while Ms. Shark chews on the revision. It should be back up tomorrow or the next day. Take a look and let me know what you think. :)
Do you read Query Shark? If not, then let me give you the 411. Janet Reid, agent for FinePrint Literary is the blogger, the Shark and we are her chum, if you will.
You can email her your query letter and it may or may not be posted. If it’s posted she’ll critique it and others will comment. You can then revise and resend it you choose.
I love this!!! I know, all work is subjective and everyone has different opinions. And yes, it’s the query, not the synopsis, not the partial or a full. But really, this is such a great way to see what an agent thinks of the letter as well as others.
Why am I telling you this??? Because mine is up today (#51) and I’d love to know what you think. I’ve already received some fabulous feedback, both from the shark and from the commenter’s. Now that doesn’t mean that they all loved it. It means they gave me their thoughts, and I can work with those thoughts as I do the rewrite.
So, check it out, leave a comment on the post and/or come back here and leave a comment. I’d love to know what you think, good or bad.

Monday and Stuck in the Office
Monday and sunny in the sunshine state makes it so hard to be in the office. I’d much rather be at the beach or sitting on my patio reading Julie Leto’s book Phantom Pleasures.
Yep, I got a couple of copies this weekend. I’m so excited to read this book. The excerpts over on the Plotmonkey’s had me dying to hold the book in my hand, turning each page with anticipation.
Now I can.
Yay!
So, how was your weekend? Anything exciting happen?

Julie Leto's Fab Giveaway
I’m back. I missed everyone in our blogworld. :) It's really great to be back at home with Science Guy and the babies (dogs for those who don't know)
Scottsdale is such a beautiful place and if you like shopping…then it’s definitely the place to go. There are malls everywhere. Did I shop? Oh yeah.

Over at the Plotmonkeys, JulieLeto is doing a great giveaway all week long. Her new book PHANTOM PLEASURES, will be out in a few weeks and she’s putting up a chapter a day for the next week. It won’t be the entire book, but I promise you’re going to love it.
Add to that, she is not only giving away a chapter a day, but she’s also sweetening the pot by offering a $20 Amazon/Borders gift card per day to anyone who leaves a comment.
Which is a great way to get the book when it comes out and finish reading it. You’ll be hooked on day one!
So, go on over read the chapters and leave a comment each day. Then come back and leave a comment here. Next Sunday, I’ll have a surprise giveaway to announce.
Pictures are coming soon of the trip. We went to a Renaissance Festival that was unbelievable.
