Tuesday Checking In

Yep, it’s that time again. Time to check in with the past weeks writing. I love this journey. Don’t get me wrong there are moments, especially during the edit process that I don’t like at all. When all I really want to do is open a new document and type Chapter One, hit the enter key and let my mind and fingers have fun. I just keep reminding myself this too shall pass and the new world is waiting for you.

I’m two-thirds completed with the revision process. One third left to go. At least for the first pass. Hopefully the second one will not be as brutal, since I’ve been pretty hard on it this go round.

I did add 1413 words to it this week. I was in a couple of major dialogue driven scenes which needed a little more depth sprinkled in.

And I entered the Bookends contest for paranormal, along with what I am sure will be half the world. It was already at 80 entries and the thing goes until tomorrow morning at 9:00 EST.

Next week I hope to have three or four more chapters completed. Synopsis??? Yeah, not so much. I’m thinking about it.

Little reminder: This week I’m giving away a copy of Stacey Kayne’s book, Maverick Wild and Ellie is running her Pay It Forward contest. Leave your comments to be entered.

So, how about you? Did you write this past week? Are you doing edits? Reading? If so, what are you reading right now that is blowing you away?

WW’s and PD’s,
Vicki

A friend of mine gave me a copy of Twilight to read by Stephanie Meyer's. She has all her books in the series so far and will give them to me as I finish each one. I'm about halfway through the first one and I'm enjoying it. I guess there making it into a movie and are picking out the cast now. I hope they do right by the book as this usually doesn't happen.

I spent the Presidents' Day holiday laying out a big chunk of my next book.

Am currently reading People of the Book and loving it!

The only writing I did this week was the columns for my RWA chapter newsletter and the entry for the Bookends contest.

I entered the Bookends blog too, Vicki, along with the rest of the world!! I've never read a western romance. Another genre to add to my list TBR. I love romantic comedy, paranormal, some historical. My favorite paranormal authors are Keri Arthur, JR Ward. Jim Butcher. Favourite contemps - Susan Elizabeth Phillips and Jennie Crusie (Americans) and Jill Mansell, Lisa Jewell, Adele Parks (British) The paranormal romances are nowhere near as popular in the UK as in the States. I don't know why. I guess the publishers dictate the markets to a certain extent but you have to really hunt for authors like Katie McAlister, Lyndsay Sands, Christine Feehan. I don't even know of any British authors. Maybe I'll be the first. Oooh look, a pig just flew past the window.
