Another Legend Has Left Us

Farewell to George Carlin. The man who years ago not only said the seven words you couldn’t say on TV, but ended up making an even bigger name for himself by doing so.

For some, he was to brash, too bold, or maybe thought to be too crude. But maybe he saw life in a different window then those people.

Remember the song “Signs”? It always made me think of George Carlin because he saw the signs and didn’t let it stop him from being who he was. He never pushed his thoughts or words on others. They were free to agree or disagree.

Death comes to everyone, but life isn’t always ours. Sure we breathe, eat, and sleep, but do we really live the way we want to or do we live the way we feel others want us to?

I don’t know the answer to that one. For me, I think it depend on the day or the situation.

So today we say farewell to another legend, one who everyone knew whether they listened to him or not. Who will take his place? You might say there are plenty out there now. But are there? I mean, he shocked the world with his words said on live TV. He didn’t physically hurt anyone, but he did shock them.

To his family and friends, I wish you peace and love, and to George I wish you rest.

I LOVED George because he pointed out the absurdity in life, the obvious, and made fun of it. He lived his life on his own terms, said things the way he wanted to say it and made not appologies for it. Even if you didn't like what he had to say, you have to respect a man who lives his life like he did. Fearlessly his way. (But, I did love what he had to say, and he made me laugh more than most but doing the least.)

Very nice tribute to George Vicki. I'm going to miss him. I'm afraid I don't see a crop of comics like the group that Carlin was a part of stepping up. Damn shame, we certainly need them.
