Time Flies When You’re Having Slammed…err, I Mean Having Fun

I can’t believe it’s been almost a week since I posted anything. Lately the days seem to fly by. Summer wishes? Maybe, but in all reality it’s the busy schedule that just won’t go away.

Yes, there is the day the job, the one that pays bills, but it’s more the night job that’s keeping me busy. There are contest to enter, revisions to still consider, and yep queries to submit. And I love it. All of it.

And I’ve been reading. WhooHoo!!! Sometimes I’m so involved with my own writing that I don’t take the time to read. Needless to say, my TBR pile has become a tower to its own right. In fact, I could probably build my own Stonehenge of sorts. One made completely out of books yet to be read.

How about you. Do you make time to read in between your writing or at the same time?

WW’s and PD’s,
Vicki

LOL! Mostly I make time to write in between my reading! Because I'm able to read just about anytime, anywhere. Writing for me requires a bit more concentration and preferably, some quiet. But I'm transitioning...

Patricia, you're so right, I just seem to forget to take the book with me. Now the writing stuff...that goes with me no matter where I'm going. I even take it to work and work on it during breaks and/or lunch.

But I just got JR Wards book. Hot off the press today, so to speak. I'll be reading it this week. Oh yeah!!! So excited to read this book!

Time. Wow...that is something I had none of for so long I didn't know what it was like to relax. Now I have more time on my hands than I know what to do with.

I rarely have time to sit and read a book and I have a stack myself. By the time I get done reading my blogging buddies, the news (which I prefer to read than watch as I can pick and choose what I want to read rather than commit an entire hour waiting on one or two stories) I have little time for much other reading.

But I have to say that I get a lot more out of reading blogs now a days than books. I am more facinated with people and their mental states or goings on than a good book. I am not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. I guess it is just what fits into my normally chaotic life the best right now.

A day doesn't go by that I don't read. But, if I'm writing I read in another genre than romance, or at least another subgenre so I don't unconsciously pick up story ideas or great lines in other books.
