It's Here!!! I'm Happy and Sad

The last book in Diana Peterfreund’s Secret Society series is here. We’ve had the privilege to go along Amy’s journey and now we’re reaching the end.

This past weekend I got to see Diana at our chapter meeting and it was great. She’s a long distance member now and so we don’t see her near often enough. Having a book signing with her there was icing on the cake. And since I like to share when I have cake, I’m giving away a copy of
Tap and Gown

Here’s the backcover blurb:
Top secret societies . . . bizarre initiation rites . . . campus love triangles . . . political shenanigans . . . Diana Peterfreund has dazzled readers and critics alike with her Ivy League novels, hailed as “impossible to put down” (Publishers Weekly) and “witty and endearing” (New York Observer). In this final installment, Eli University senior Amy “Bugaboo” Haskel and her fellow Diggers are preparing to face real life in worlds far beyond the hallowed halls of Eli University.

For Amy the countdown to graduation has begun, and suddenly the perfect ending to a perfectly iconoclastic Eli career is slipping from her grasp. Her new boyfriend’s been made an offer he just can’t refuse. Her fellowship applications haven’t even been filed. And the young woman she’s chosen to take her place in Rose & Grave—the country's most powerful and notorious secret society—seems to come complete with a secret life already intact.

Lunging toward the finish line, Amy finds trouble around every corner, from society intrigues and unlikely stalkers to former flames and mandatory science credits. Surely it couldn’t get worse . . . until Initiation Night explodes into a terrifying scene and into a last test of wits for a young woman just trying to make it out of the Ivy League in one piece.

And click here to read an excerpt.

If you already have your copy please do not leave any spoilers in the comments. We can do that later on.

To enter leave a comment about your favorite scene in any of the first three books. You can as many comments as you’d like to be entered. This weekend, the randomizer will choose a winner.

Smiles,
Vicki

To be honest, I haven't read the previous books in this series. I've just heard about it with the release of the final book. It sounds great and I'm trying to find the previous books so I can catch up. I don't have a favorite scene, but I'd like to enter anyway if I still can!

It's been a while since I read the first book, but I recall a tapping ceremony where the young woman was hiding out, not supposed to be there.

Congratulations to Diana! I had her book on my list to pick up. Hate I missed you guys on Saturday. (3 basketball games out of 9 from Fri to Sun). Didn't even remember until late Sunday night.

Choosing just one favorite scene is really difficult...I have many (basically entire books...) :) One scene from the first book that I really liked was when Amy stood up to the patriarchs towards the end of the book.

A scene I really like from UTR is when Poe punches Micah. This scene is more meaningful now that I've read the secret stories Diana put on her blog.

ROSB was awesome. I liked the scenes where Poe was teaching Amy how to swim. It was really great to see a softer side of him.

I love this series and really hated to see it end, but Diana did an awesome job with the final book.

I love in ROSB when Poe and Amy are making out on the beach. I could always tell there was something between them, love and hate go too close together. I also really loved when Poe punched out Micah in UTR too.

I liked in SSG whn Amy is going through her initiation and she drinks the pomegranite juice and wipes the cup out with her shirt.

In UTR, I really liked the scenes when Brandon and Amy have the platonic sleep overs. I so wanted them to get back together when I read that book.

Okay, I'll say it...the shower scene in ROSB is h-o-t! :)

Oh what a great contest! Let's see, it's really tough to pick just a particular scene. In the first book, I liked the scene when Amy is being interviewed and thinks it is Quill and Ink interviewing her. I'd like to think if in the same situation I'd have the nerve to react the same way Amy did.

I was also one of those rooting for Amy and Brandon to get back together when readying UTR. While I didn't like what was being done to Amy when the drinks were poured on her, I did like how Brandon took care of her. And having Felicity (of whom I'm so not a fan) walk in on him taking care of her made the scene even sweeter!

One of my favorite parts of ROSB was the ending. I'm sure from my post about UTR you won't be surprised to hear it took me almost the entire book to warm up to this Pajamie idea. However, by the end, I was hooked and loved the way Diana wrote that last scene. I won't go into details since some people posted that they haven't read the books yet...I don't want to spoil it. :)
