So you remember when we were doing the Thursday Thirteen? Well, I decided (much to my daughter’s request) to do a Tuesday Ten. Besides ten things must be easier to come up with than thirteen, right?

Tuesday Ten

Favorite Moments - In no particular order:

1. Walking in the front door of our new home with Science Guy. – It was surreal to look around and know this was our house after the countless houses we’d looked at.

2. Becoming pet parents to Meisha and Sassy. – I picked up Meisha the day before we picked up Sassy. They were both so tiny, just two pounds. They immediately became the closes of sisters, even though they’re not the same breed.

3. My mom’s 70th birthday weekend. – Spending time with family and friends was wonderful. Watching my mom and dad dancing along with aunts, uncles, and cousins (who we never see), was cool. My sister went above and beyond with this party. She did almost all the work and it rocked.

4. Typing ‘The End’ to a manuscript. – The relief, joy, fear, omg now it’s time to major edit, I’m sort of sick of this book, I did it again, and I really love this book, all rolled into one is amazing.

5. Going to Niagara Falls with Science Guy – We had a blast and it was beautiful. Freezing cold, but beautiful. And of course, sharing it with him is the best.

6. Painting pottery for outside plants – I haven’t done this in a couple of years, but plan to do some for our new home. I love to paint, love how relaxed it makes me, and how the time flies by.

7. Sitting in the backyard with Science Guy, the chairs leaned back, watching the night sky for shooting stars. – Talking is optional during these times. It’s an amazing thing to be able to be with someone when words aren’t necessary and yet you can talk about anything at the same time.

8. Having my son move in with us. – I know, some of you may be saying, What, are you crazy? No, I’m not. We didn’t get to spend a lot of time together for the past 6 years, so having him around now is great.

9. Watching sunsets or sunrises on the beach. – I love the sound of the water and colors of the sky as our part of the world slowly open its eyes, or snuggles in and closes them for the night. Also, I have to add here, taking beach walks with my sister whenever we go to visit.

10. Visiting with my daughter – She lives way too far away which makes the in person time usually once a year. But the week I go to visit is always packed with love, laughter, and a little arguing (I did raise her to be her own thinker, and she’s Italian on her dad’s side, and French and Irish on my side). Some of the best moments are when we start giggling for no apparent reason and can’t stop.

What about you? What are some of your favorite moments?

xoxoxo,
Vicki

YEA for Tuesday 10!! I suppose I should tell a couple of my favorite moments since I bugged you so much to do this. :)I'll just do five to save room and avoid boredom! :) In no particular order...
1 - Snuggling with my hubby. Anywhere, anytime. When Puppers joins us it's an added bonus (most of the time...)
2 - I have to agree with the pet parent thing. The day I became Puppers' mom will forever be etched into my memory. My hubby won major points that day by giving me the best gift he has ever surprised me with.
3 - My birthday (or as I like to say "birth-month"). Just being honest...I like the "Queen for a day" (month, whatever ;) ) thing. hehe. I get that honest regardless of what my mom might say otherwise...
4 - Spending time with my mom. For the last two years it's been twice a year, so I'm really missing her now. :'( I treasure our spring break week together. And yes, I am my own thinker...and so is she! :) I guess you could say that we both believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion, so long as it aligns with ours. hehe :) I love my mom and am so very proud of her.
5 - The first and last day of school. There is so much excitement in the air, for obvious different reasons. I love my job and am thankful to get to impact the lives of children on a daily basis.

Favorite moments - OMG there are so many....
1) Laughing with HHB and Princess, till I cry.
2)Watching Bella (cat) play with all the dogs - they crack me up.
3)Knowing what I'm writing isn't a POS and it just flows out.
4) Plotting new works - I love it
5) Spending time with friends. Whether on line or at lunch :-)
6) Dinner & a movie w/ HHB (it doesn't happen often so I love it when it does)
7) Playing the question game with HHB (thanks Brandy) love that we have to think about each other all day long and about our answers.
8) Quiet days off
9) RWA Nationals - seriously I love that conference I have so much fun and meet so many great people and never sleep
10) Losing myself in a great book for hours on end.

Not sure that I can come up with 10, but I'll give it a shot.

1. Being in the delivery room when my youngest niece was born. I was the first person to touch her after the doctor and nurses(even before her parents).
2. Taking my oldest niece to Chicago after she graduated from high school. It was just the two of us and we had the best time.
3. Talking with my grandmother each week. She is 90, so I really love still being able to talk with her for hours every Saturday(now it's football season, so we are all about the Vols & Titans).
4. Visiting my dad. My mom passed away when I was 12, so my dad and I are really close. I love going to his house and just sitting around and talking.
5.Having my brother live with me between jobs. He is an actor and if he has a good bit of time between jobs he lives with me and cooks my dinner and cleans my apt in exchange for a free place to stay.
6. Shopping with my sister the day after Thanksgiving. I hate the crowds, but since she has 3 kids this is the only time it is really just the 2 of us ever. Plus we have the best time planning our trip.
7. Spending time with my friends each month. There are 7 of us in the area and we try to get together at least once a month.
