Monday Check In and Contest

This past week I’ve not written at all. It’s been packing, throwing away, and more packing. I don’t actually move for another week, which means I’m living in total chaos right now.

Hopefully, I’ll have words, pages, revisions, or edits to report next week. You all know how much I love the 100 words/100 days. It keeps me in my story. Now I feel I’m going back in cold. Yuck! Not the way I like to work but it can’t be helped.

This week’s contest is the first Black Dagger Brotherhood, Dark Lover, by JR Ward. This is the first in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series and since she the fifth is coming out in September, I thought I’d introduce you to the boys. Ummm, if you meet them, don't call them boys. Especially Zsadist, who the brothers call Z. He's really cool but don't tell him I said that. He doesn't take to well to it. Oh, his book is the third in the series. :)

You may have read her other work, written by her actual name, Jessica Bird. If so, then you already know she is a fabulous writer.

The Black Dagger Brotherhood is a must read even if paranormal is not the normal genre you read. You will become totally immersed within their world, knowing them well, and yes, pulling for them. You might even wish to become a shellan or wish you could be one of the brothers.

Here’s a blurb from the book. You can check out her sight for an excerpt.

In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there's a deadly turf war going on between vampires and their slayers. There also exists a secret band of brothers like no other - six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Among them, none relishes killing their enemies more than Wrath, the leader of the Black Dagger Brotherhood...

The only purebred vampire left on the planet, Wrath has a score to settle with the slayers who murdered his parents centuries ago. But when one of his most trusted fighters is killed- orphaning a half-breed daughter unaware of her heritage or her fate - Wrath must usher the beautiful female into the world of the undead…

Racked by a restlessness in her body that wasn't there before, Beth Randall is helpless against the dangerously sexy man who comes to her at night with shadows in his eyes. His tales of brotherhood and blood frighten her. But his touch ignites a dawning hunger that threatens to consume them both…

So how’s your week been? Did you write, edit, revise, or even think about your current wip? Or are you like me, life has taken over for a short time and you’re fighting your way back?

Don’t forgot to leave your comments all week to be in the drawing for JR Ward’s book. You’re going to love it!

Writing Wishes and Plotting Dreams,
Vicki

I wanted to comment because I've been meaning to read these.

Wrote 28 pages this week, put The End on WIP, and edited 4 hours so it will be ready to go by the end of the month.

Hope moving is going well.

Jill, tetewa, and tricia - you will love her writing. From page one to the end she captures you in her world. I meant what I said when you feel as if the boys are friends of yours.

Laura - Thank you, thank you, thank you for introducing her to me.

I've heard good things about the series too. Don't really do the vampire thing so I'm not sure if I'll ever read them.

Didn't add much to my word count last week either.
